Hockey NSW is saddened to hear of the passing of Life Member Stanley (Stan) Ewen McPhee, a well-respected hockey figure on the Far North Coast.
Stan became the 63rd Life Member of Hockey NSW in 1973 for services to his local region as well as hockey throughout the State. He was also a Life Member of Far North Coast Hockey Association, as well as East Lismore Hockey Club along with his wife Iris.
Stan joined East Lismore Hockey Club in 1950, where he remained a member throughout his life. As well as playing in multiple grades and being awarded Best & Fairest A Grade Player in 1957, Stan also coached multiple Easts side to premierships. He was also an accomplished coach at State level, winning a number of titles with Far North Coast Hockey.

In 1977 and 1987, he headed up the hosting of State Championship events within the Lismore Basin. These are just a few examples of the outstanding administration work Stan undertook within his Club and Association over the years. Stan will be remebered by his peers as a kind, thoughtful, fair and intelligent good sport.
Hockey NSW extends their deepest sympathies to his wife Iris and children Terry, Kerron and their families.
