Hockey NSW welcomes Matt Banning to Board of Directors

Hockey NSW is delighted to announce the appointment of Matt Banning as the newest appointed Director on the Hockey NSW Board. Matt will also serve as the Financial Director of the Hockey NSW Finance Risk Committee (FRC).

Matt’s journey in finance began with a Bachelor of Business, specialising in Accounting and Finance, followed by completing both his CPA and Master of Business Administration. Professionally, Matt has held positions in Executive and Management Accounting, culminating in his recent positions as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Matt also serves as Director and Chair of the Finance Audit and Risk Management Committee of Western NSW Primary Health Network since 2022.

Beyond his corporate achievements, Matt has demonstrated a passion for Hockey, that dates back to his days representing NSW from 1997 to 2002, and as an Australian Schoolboy. Following his playing career, he has remained actively involved in the sport, contributing significantly to the Bathurst District Junior Girls Hockey Association Committee and coaching at both club and representative levels, including the Western Stars Centre of Development (COD) program.

With a robust background in finance, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge that will be instrumental in guiding Hockey NSW’s financial initiatives. He will officially commence his term at the upcoming July Board meeting.
