Hockey NSW brings financial operations in-house

Published Tue 14 May 2024

In a stragic move aimed at bolstering control and efficiency, Hockey NSW has transitioned its financial operations in-house, stepping away from the company's former outsourcing arrangement with Hockey Australia. The decision marks a shift in how Hockey NSW manages its finances, underlining a commitment to proactive financial management.

Hockey NSW would like to thank Hockey Australia for their invaluable support over the years.

The decision to transition the management of finances internally was made by former CEO, Emma Highwood, in late 2023. This strategic move aims to enhance Hockey NSW's control over day-to-day financial operations and provide immediate support to its business, management, and stakeholders.

What does this change mean for everyone? It translates to faster response times, expedited decision-making processes, and enhanced support for Hockey NSW's valued members and associations. With finance operations now under direct control of Hockey NSW, the organisation is poised to provide efficient and effective services to the Hockey community.

Central to the success of this transition are two key individuals leading Hockey NSW's finance department. Janine Knight, Finance Manager, brings over a decade of experience in finance in the non-for-profit, FMCG and social purpose sectors and Linda Leong, Assistant Accountant, bringing a wealth of experience from various accounting roles. Working together previously, the two will be instrumental in guiding Hockey NSW's financial endeavours.

Moving forward, Hockey NSW is committed to supporting its business and the wider community, ensuring that financial operations align with organisational goals and serve the need of stakeholders.
