Hockey NSW Board Elect New President

Alexandra El-Shamy has been elected as the new President of the Board of Hockey NSW.

Following the conclusion of the term of previous President Adriana Care and the election of two new Board Directors at the 2025 Hockey NSW AGM on 29 March 2025, the Hockey NSW Board held a meeting on 17 April 2025 to elect the positions of President and Vice President. El-Shamy was appointed as the new President of Hockey NSW and Corinne Rochester was re-appointed as Vice President.

Alexandra El-Shamy was an existing Elected Director of the Hockey NSW Board, as well as a former Director of the Hockey One Board, and has been involved in hockey for over 40 years. She has more than two decades of experience in executive and board leadership across the sport, corporate, and not-for-profit sectors.

In an open letter to members the new President acknowledged the current pressures on hockey and many other sporting codes including participation, governance, cost, transparency, and communication.

Corinne Rochester continues in her position as Vice President and Elected Director, and continues to be an active volunteer in the Sydney hockey community. She is an experienced People & Development Manager with over eight years at Allens, one of Australia’s leading law firms. She specialises in HR strategy, policy development, remuneration frameworks and employee relations.
