Ella Carr and Ryan Woolnough part of 2024 Commonwealth Games NSW Athlete Grant Winners

Commonwealth Games NSW has unveiled the recipients of the 2024 CGNSW Athlete Grant program. Among the 40 young athletes chosen from 22 diverse sports, Hockey NSW athletes, Ella Carr and Ryan Woolnough were chosen to receive the award.

Ella and Ryan were nominated by Hockey NSW as part of the pathway program. With both athletes set to receive $1,000, the significance of this grant extends beyond monetary value. It serves as a testament to dedication and talent shown by Ella and Ryan.

CGNSW CEO Peter Tate commended all the recipients, stating “These 40 young athletes have demonstrated tremendous ability in their respective sport pathways. Like many previous award winners, I’m confident quite a few will be chosen to represent Australia in future Commonwealth Games”.

Ella from Matcham and Ryan from Redhead, selections for the CGNSW Athlete Grant underscore their potential Hockey careers.
