Clare Prideaux Takes Reins As New GM Pathway & Community

Hockey NSW Welcomes Senior Administrator And Former Hockeyroo Clare Prideaux As New General Manager Pathway And Community.

Hockey NSW is delighted to announce it has appointed leading sports administrator and former Hockeyroo, Clare Prideaux as General Manager Pathway and Community. Clare will commence in the role June 6. 

Clare has a unique balance of experience in high performance sport, performance pathways, community and sport for social impact in NSW, Australia and internationally and has worked in partnership with over 20 Olympic and Paralympic sports.

Clare is no stranger to Hockey as a World Cup medallist and former Hockey Australia Board Director. She is currently Oceania President and an Executive Board member of the Federation of International Hockey and enjoys contributing at the grassroots community level as a club Coach Developer. Clare brings extensive experience of working in High Performance having previously held roles as a Director of High Performance at NSWIS and Interim CEO. 

Clare joins Hockey NSW from her own consultancy business, leading strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, workforce strategy, capability building, cultural alignment, gender equity, inclusion and diversity in sport, business and community environments. 

Chief Executive Officer of Hockey NSW, Emma Highwood, said Ms Prideaux was selected from a high-quality field of candidates. 

“We are thrilled to attract an administrator of Clare’s experience, talent and passion for Hockey as we prepare to implement our strategy Talent Pathway to 2032 and commence the process of developing our Grassroots growth and retention strategy,” Ms Highwood said. 

“Clare is an outstanding leader who has a strong background in co-design, delivering change and implementing strategies in complex environments, which is the perfect fit for Hockey as we commence the journey of supporting the Hockey Community to grow and retain players in a changing and increasingly competitive sporting environment.

“Clare has a deep passion for Hockey and understands the importance of balancing and complimenting the Community and Pathway area of the game to ensure Hockey continues to grow at all levels,” Ms Highwood said. 

President of Hockey NSW, Adriana Care said Hockey NSW is excited to welcome Clare onboard.

“Clare is an outstanding leader, and will play a critical role in the next phase of growth for Hockey NSW,” Ms Care said.

Clare Prideaux says it is a privilege to have the opportunity to work with Hockey NSW.

“In recent years I have come to fully appreciate the power of sport to change lives and support individuals and communities to live, learn and lead well through hockey. Planning for whole of sport outcomes with local communities will encourage a sustainable approach to talent identification and development as well as growth and retention.

“After over a decade of representing Hockey NSW as a player earlier in my career, I am really looking forward to working with the Hockey NSW team, Board and the wider Hockey community to continue to support performance, wellbeing, development and growth of Hockey across NSW.”
