ACPE partnership

Hockey NSW are very pleased to announce that we have renewed our partnership with the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) for another year.

Since announcing the partnership in 2019, the partnership between ACPE and Hockey NSW has gone from strength-to-strength, and we’re excited to expand our relationship in 2021/22.

Over the next 12 months, ACPE will continue their support of our 16 to 18 year-old pre-elite athletes as the primary partner of our Athlete Acceleration Program (AAP) once again.

In addition, ACPE have become the official partner for Hockey NSW’s “Beyond Hockey” in-house podcast and our annual “Education Week” initiative.

In an exciting development, ACPE has also increased their investment in hockey by becoming the Black Tier sponsor of the NSW Pride for the 2021 Hockey One League season. They join the likes of other major brands such as Kennards Self Storage and Rydges Hotels & Resorts who are onboard for the upcoming season starting later this year.

David Thompson, Hockey NSW CEO, is excited for the chance to continue to grow the great partnership between the two brands.

“Over the past two years, Hockey NSW and ACPE have had a very fruitful relationship which has had great benefits for both organisations, along with many of our members and staff,” said Thompson.

“We’ve been able to utilise ACPE’s state-of-the art facilities and experts for the development of our players and staff, as well as being able to offer high-quality study and education opportunities to our members and volunteers.”

“Hockey NSW has also been able to provide development and intern opportunities to their current students and alumni, and has been able to lend the expertise of our senior staff to discussion panels and events.”

“We look forward to working with ACPE further over the next 12 months, and also welcome them to the NSW Pride family for the 2021 Hockey One season; which is set to be a blockbuster season featuring our Olympic Kookaburras and Hockeyroos.”

Dean and CEO of ACPE, Debbie Le Roux, is looking forward to building on the strong foundation both organisations have built over the past two years.

“ACPE has a strong relationship with Hockey NSW and we are delighted to renew the partnership as we explore opportunities for impact going forward,” said Le Roux.

“Our shared passion for sport, love for the community and a fundamental belief in the value of education in sport has generated exciting initiatives which will no doubt grow and drive value for the sport and community.”

“The NSW Pride is a wonderful addition to the relationship with Hockey NSW and we are excited and proud to partner with a Championship winning team. We will be cheering on the Pride at the Lion’s Den this season.”
